New Balance Men's MR1225 Running Shoe

Reviews of New Balance Men's MR1225 Running Shoe

1.) Great stability shoes right out of the box

I am extremely satisfied with the 1225's. Right out of the box I found them extremely comfortable and ready to go. I took them out for a 7 mile run and thought they were great. Excellent cushioning, but not too soft and definitely not too hard on each footfall. I tend to suffer from shin splints and I think these shoes have helped me stabilize my gait and neutralize my shin splints. I also really like the styling (shoe laces do not come undone), color scheme and reflecting features (good for night running). I highly recommend them if you're someone who needs a stability shoe or even if you are a mild to medium overpronator who needs a stable but not heavy shoe.

2.) New Balance MR1225 - Great for diabetic feet!

The New Balance MR1222-1225 series were recommended by a foot doctor. I use them for walking, not running. They are very well made and last a long time. I am a diabetic and had painful plantar fasciitis. I went to several foot doctors, got injections, but the pain kept getting worse. These running shoes have made a huge difference. When paired with Spenco orthotic inserts and wigwam shocks (no painful seams), my feet feel great. I highly recommend them. Hope they help you, too.

3.) Perfect Balance

I have had the last two versions of the 1220 series and upgraded to the 1225's. These are a great balance of cushioning and support. Great for heavier people or people that have hard steps. Was dealing with plantar fascitis for a bit after my long runs and the support and cushioning in these helped me get rid of it. Would definately recommend to all.

4.) NB1225 = best running shoe I've ever owned

I have wide feet and am 6'-4', 240, so need lots of cushioning. I use these mainly for trail runs/light hiking and these blow away every other pair of shoes I have ever owned. Very light weight and breathable. Am buying several more pairs as I can't believe how comfortable they are. Durability for trails isn't the best (but I'm not complaining). NB makes great products and I've always loved their wide range of styles/sizes. As such, will remain a loyal buyer.

Highly recommended.

5.) Great shoes

These have been great shoes for me. I was also looking at the 993's, but these fit my foot perfectly and are very light. I'll probably buy another pair soon.

6.) Great stability shoes!!!!

Excellent for people with mild to over pronator feet like myself. I had the 1224 and were great too! but somewhat better the 1225, more cushioning and support! The only negative on these shoes: they wear quite fast (I run 40KM or 25Miles/week)... but the feeling while you run with these shoes doesn't have a match (like walking on pillows)!!! I really recommend them!! better if you use them with the NB support insoles (sold separately).

7.) Best support, light weight for happy feet!

Purchased this style to replace NB 804 from local store, in 2000. Great protection from ankle injury if one of those unexpected uneven surface's is not noticed.

The price is affordable, and to cushion damaged feet that running while carrying heavy construction materials caused burning pain in both heels, due to sprains from 1991 job while wearing a different brand running shoe.

New Balance is near perfect fit for feet that stomped concrete for too many years.

Confident that MR1225 tread will give needed traction on wet surface, and no pressure on heels and ball of feet from design of tread.

I did not have to purchase inserts for improved fit. Will compare fit after months or possibly years of limited walking produce need for inserts. Limited minutes standing and walking for this retired door to door salesman, means about ten years of useful shoe life.

8.) 2nd Pair Owned

I just recently purchased a second pair of the NB1225. I put in about 100 miles per month on my last pair and on the advice of my foot doctor, needed to change them out every 500 miles or 5 months, which ever came first. Truely happy with the NB1225, that's why I went back with the same shoe.

10.) Good shoe, comfortable, not super durable.
Reviewed by: Marc A. Ritter Havelock, NC

I ran in these for about 7 months before they really started to break down. They were great as far as fit and comfort, but being a bigger runner (6'2 and 240lbs), I think I just wore them out. I don't expect to get a lifetime out of a pair of running shoes, but these fell apart a little quicker than I expected. They had good support and fit, just not longevity. I am switching to a pair of Brooks Beast's, hopefully the extra weight will mean more durability.

11.) Great Shoe for big guys

Great shoe for running. I'm in the military so I'm a decent runner but over long distances i would get stiff and sore. This shoe completely removed my shin splints and made running a lot more comfortable. HOWEVER!!! I realized soon after buying these things they are exactly that... RUNNING shoes. If you go on short hikes, mow the grass, sports, etc, then you need to get a different set of shoes. The shoes have good support and great cushioning, but you can definitely feel that they are less stiff and rigid as compared to other walking/trail shoes you may be used to. I've been running/walking in cross trainers and believe me, you will feel the diffference once you step off the track/pavement wearing these. My thoughtful, former cross country running wife pointed this out to me after the fact... go figure. So i'm telling you... these are awesome RUNNING shoes for big guys, but for everything else, get a pair off all purpose sneakers.

12.) Pretty good...
